Silent and unidentified low flying objects caused two Lancaster County, PA, witnesses to file UFO reports this week, according to February 28, 2014, testimony in Case 54352 and Case 54354 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
In Lancaster, PA, about 10:05 p.m. on February 22, 2014, the first witness was outside with his wife when the object was first seen in Case 54352.
"The brightness of the object caught my attention, then the very low altitude and very fast velocity," the witness stated. "The object was devoid of any sound - completely silent."
The witness described the object.
"It was an orange-yellow color. There were no strobes, no aircraft marking lights, going at an incredible speed, yet there was no trail of light. The object went completely dark. I stood up hoping to catch a view of where it would be if it reappeared in the same direction of travel, and at the last two seconds of view, it lit up again with the same exact color."
Then at 5:13 p.m. on February 24, 2013, a second witness at East Hempfield Township, PA, was looking out a large window at work when something odd was noticed in Case 54354.
"I was on the third floor looking out and suddenly this black on the bottom - and on the sides was copper - colored object appeared and started to travel behind the building where I was sitting."
The object was less than 500 feet off of the ground.
"I could not follow the object because I was inside a building, but I could judge where it was heading. It was southeast parallel to Route 30 in East Hempfield Township in Lancaster, PA, where my job is. This occurred for less then 10 seconds. It was traveling very fast. I could not hear anything, I just saw it and could not explain what it was."
No images or videos were included with either report. Lancaster is a city in south-central Pennsylvania, population 59,322. East Hempfield Township is in west-central Lancaster County, population 21,399.
Pennsylvania has a UFO Alert Rating of 4 with a higher than average number of recent reports nationally. Pennsylvania had 20 UFO reports in January 2014 - the 9th highest reporting state - while California had 102 reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.
